Christmas

Last year Madi hated Santa- she screamed the whole time. This year she was trying to run up to him while another little boy was sitting on his lap!
Our family on Christmas Eve
This one is just for my mother in-law Lisa- she told me to delete this! Haha! Don't we look happy? We were trying to be patient waiting for this next picture to happen:
The fam
Madi was super excited about her presents this year
Christmas morning- right before Madi came out to check out what Santa left for her and Meg
At my parent's house opening presents
and playing games- we didn't get a family pic cuz one of my brothers didn't get there until 3:45 and by then my other brother and his family had left- better luck next year i guess!

Funny Girl...

Madi is quite the little character these days. She frequently does something and looks at us and says, "I'm bein funny!" So here are a few of those moments captured:

She loves pigtails and I happened to make these ones extra special! She only liked it for a minute though and then she was telling me to fix them.
She has had this obsession with being naked lately. Luckily only at night around bedtime and she does listen to us when we tell her that she has to keep her bum covered up, so undies stay on. But she strips down and runs around the livin room singing and dancing. This time around she found her coat laying on the ground and decided she would wear it atleast.

Girls...

Just wanted to post a few random photos I had from the past couple of weeks. I love these two gals! Sometimes they wear me out but they are so much fun and so stinkin' cute!

Madi loves her sister! If Megan is sleeping when Madi gets up from her nap Madi always asks, "Mom, where's Meg?" And when I tell her she tries to run into Megan's room saying, " I wanna see her."
Meg is such a smiler, I love it!

What the cool moms drive...

If you're a cool mom like me then you will only allow your kids to ride in style through stores:

Actually, Chet picked it out and I was honestly a little mortified to be pushing that huge thing through the aisles! And to turn that thing takes a lot of space and a lot of effort- which is probably why Chet kept moving back and forth through aisles so I couldn't just stay in one place! Madi loved it though. If I stopped she would turn around and say "Drive Mom!" and then put her hands back on her mini steering wheel. I doubt it will be the last time we have a ride that cool! Ü

Sometimes she dresses herself...

I was organizing Madisen's closet the other day and so naturally I had stuff pulled out and laying all over the floor in her room. Well she just started sorting through and found the things she liked and put them on. This was the result:

I blame this all on Chet's inner nerd- it has passed on!

"I got a man mom!"

Chet came home with masks the other night for a masquerade party we are going to and Madi wanted to play with them. We didn't want them to get broken so I suggested that Chet make her a mask of her own. She came running into the kitchen and said, "I got a man mom!" Kids say the funniest things! Here's her man a.k.a. mask and a few other pics:

This is what her hair looks like after nap time on the days that I don't put it in pigtails. It's a little on the Phyllis Diller side, and if you don't know who Phyllis Diller I'm not surprised- I only know she existed because that is what my dad used to call me all the time in the morning.
Madi really wanted Megan to wear her shoes.
Isn't she freakin cute?

Just FYI- there are several random new posts after this one- some more exciting then others but be sure to check them out!

All the kiddos...

As I have mentioned in previous posts, our family has grown a lot this year with 5 new additions added to the 4 grandkids my parents already had. Here's a photo I took on Thanksgiving:

Brigham, Taylor, Bailee, Gavin, Chloe, Madisen, Faith, Megan, and Mason- who was a very tired boy!

I love my nieces and nephews- so stinkin fun!

Mommy of 2...

Having 2 makes things a little more exciting sometimes and by exciting I mean crazy, frustrating, tiring, and pretty fun too! This picture is a perfect example of that:

Bedtime stories- Madi is content and Meg wasn't quite up for it- she was hungry but Madi wanted Mom to read her stories, not Dad and unfortunately Dad doesn't have the proper equipment to feed Megan! We did manage to get through all the stories without a huge meltdown! Ü

M&M

One year older and wiser too...

Yes indeed, I am one year older and hopefully wiser! For my birthday Chet took me and the girls out for breakfast then we just had a mellow day at home. That night he took me to see Breaking Dawn, which he loved, hahaha! I keep telling him that I can get my mom and sister to go with me and he hasn't taken me up on the offer!

My birthday gift from Chet- Victoria secret lotions and perfumes and a $20 folded into the shape of a heart. I specifically asked him for the perfume and two lotions and I was way excited to get so much extra and in plastic bottles! I have gotten 3 bottles of this perfume in the last year- all in glass bottles and I have dropped and broken EVERY single one within a week of getting them!
My in-laws got this for me- OH YEAH! Peyton Manning jersey! GO COLTS! Okay, so they aren't so great this year with a 0-11 record, infact they have the worst record in the NFL this season, BUT Peyton is out with a neck injury! Don't worry, next year will be better!
And I also got gift cards from the rest of my family so I can go shopping! I'm way excited because I haven't really bought anything besides maternity clothes and baby clothes for the last year so THANKS everyone! I had a great birthday!

Life...

We are still surviving here. I'm attempting to get a better routine down so that I am actually showered and dressed before 9, as well as both the girls and all of us fed. So far it hasn't gone too badly this week. And really it will be so much easier when I'm not sleep deprived. Megan usually goes to sleep at 9 PM, is up around 2 and then again at 5:30-6- but I'm a solid 7 hour sleep girl and I have a horrible habit of not falling asleep until close to 11 PM. I just hppe that Megan starts sleeping through the night as quickly as Madisen did! It's fun to spend time with my girls but I definitely have my moments where I just want to get out of the house and then I think about all that has to happen to do that- pack up the diaper bag, get Megan in her carseat, get Madi to go potty then put on her shoes and coat, put the dogs in their kennels, load the girls in the car and then where would we go? Those moments usually pass within an hour but it tends to be a long hour- its a weird adjustment JUST being home and not planning to go back to work. I'm grateful to be able to do it though, I love my girls! Anyway, here are a couple of random pics:

Madisen was coloring pictures for Meg and trying to get her to hold the crayons. It was sweet.

BUBBLES!
In case you don't know, my kid has an unhealthy obsession with bubbles! She seriously probably spent two hours blowing bubbles and running around the house the other day! Gotta love cheap entertainment!
And to make it better, she has this awesome toy that you just have to dip and push a button and you've got bubbles! Thanls again Aunt Lindsey!

MAN'S BEST FRIEND
All I can say is...he really loves his dog!

Love them...

These days I find that the time slips by quickly- before I know it the clock reads 1:00 pm and I am still not dressed and/or showered and both girls need to be put down for naps. Things are good though. I keep telling people that both girls are being way too easy on me and I'm waiting for the switch and the devil in one of these girls to come out. Hopefully that doesn't happen but I can't have it this easy can I? Let's hope so! Ü

Lucky for me she still spends the majority of her time doing this
This one cracks me up every time! Madi jsut had to take her "rainbow toy"- as she calls it, to the potty with her.

Halloween 2011

We dressed Madi up as a Lawn Gnome this year, she was so stinkin' cute. Meg was our little black cat although she just played at Grandma and Grandpa's house while Chet and I walked around to a few houses with Madi. It only took about 3 houses before Madi figured that it was okay that everyone looked weird and that if she said "trick or treat" she got candy. Chet had almost as much fun as Madi- he wanted to walk around the whole neighborhood he was lovin it so much!

Our little Lawn Gnome
The girls with their Daddy
We actually realized that night that we didn't have a picture of the 4 of us, so here's the first official family picture.
We made sure to  put her in a lot of layers that night- 1 short sleeve onesie, a long sleeve onesie, 2 pairs of tights, socks, shoes, gnome shoe covers, and her costume- but it was still fairly cold so we wrapped her up in a blanket between houses.
