Madi...

The last photos I took of Madi weren't the best because we took them in the late afternoon so the coloring looks funky. Normally I like to do them in the morning because I prefer natural lighting and that's when I get the best lighting at my house. Anyway, I took a few more the other day because we already had all the stuff out so here are a couple of my faves. It's hard to get a regular smile out of this girl for pictures. If you tell her to smile she puts on a really cheesy smile, but I got a few good ones out of her this time.

So just a couple of random fun stories about Madi and the funny things she does: Last night I was going through our normal bedtime routine and I sat in the rocking chair in her room and told her to come sit on my lap so we could read. She said she wanted to sit in her chair (a little brown leather horseshoe chair she has) so I put on my best sad face and told her I needed her to come sit on my lap and help me turn the pages. She gave me this look like, "Really?" Then she sighed and said, "Alright....I will do it." The way she said it was like she was trying to convey to me that she saw right through my fake sad face.
Also, she is obsessed with her butt lately. She is always saying "Look at my butt." or "Here's my butt mom!" So the other day she was of course saying, "I have a butt mom." For some reason we started on a conversation of who has butts.
Me: "Does mom have a butt?"
Madi: "Yes."
Me: "What about Dad, does he have a butt?"
Madi: "Yes, and Grandpa too!"
Me: "What about Buddy, does he have a butt?"
Madi: (very matter of factly:) "No mom, Buddy has a tail."
Note to self: if an animal has a tail it does not have a butt! Ü
We really do have more intelligent conversations but this was one of those times that I was trying to feed Megan and get her ready for a nap and I was trying to distract Madisen from putting her hands all over Megan's face. So if I have to talk about butts to accomplish my goal then I will do it! Ü

Twins...

Bailee and Brigham are my niece and nephew that are twins. On Monday they came to my house for a little photo shoot:
Bailee
This one cracks me up because there is so much girl attitude just radiating from this little gal! I feel like she is saying, "Seriously? We are still doing this? B-O-R-I-N-G!"
This one I only put on here to give everyone a glimpse of the fun that my brother and his wife have had for over 6 months now- baby spit/throw up, and this is nothing compared to what I have seen come out of this kid!

Brigham
5 seconds after I had this tie on him it was soaking wet from baby slobber! Everything goes straight to his mouth. On more then one occasion during this little photo shoot he was trying to eat his sister and any bow she had on her head when he was nearby!
He only liked the bike for a couple of minutes!

Double the pleasure, Double the fun!
Bailee's shirt says, "My middle name is cute." And Brigham's says, "My middle name is handsome."

This week...

This week my little Megaroo turns 4 months old. Here's an update: Is she sleeping through the night? I get this question all the time and the answer is HAHAHAHA, NO! I know she is only 4 months old some of you might say but at this point Madi was sleeping through the night and before she slept through the night she was up once, ONE time. Megan is commonly up THREE times in one night and is a ridiculously slow eater so I am usually up with her for 45 minutes each time. Needless to say I am a sleep deprived mama. Although last night, I am pretty sure it was only once, in my fog I can't remember correctly! Some days I am on automode, just accomplishing things because I have done them so many times in exactly the same order: wake up get Madi out of bed, make her "oatmitt" for breakfast, Meg wakes up, I eat breakfast, put Madi in the tub, dress and feed Meg while Madi is in the tub, get madi out of the tub-dressed-teeth brushed-hair done, @ 10 she watches Sesame Street while I put Meg down for a nap then I go down stairs and workout then shower then it is cleaning, playing with the girls, etc. Don't get me wrong, I knew what I was signing up for (for the most part-Meg is quite a bit more tempermental then Madi) when I got pregnant with Megan but I am just tired all the time. I just keep singing a country song in my head, the one that says, "You're gonna miss this, you're gonna want this back..." And I know it will be that way, as tired as I am and as crazy as things get some times, I know that I will miss my girls being these ages. I will miss Meg's coos and Madi's funy words like "oatmitt." And someday I will sleep all night again and then we will have another baby and the fun will start all over! Ü
Anyway, let me continue with my update: Meg is laughing, full out laughing-so cute. She loves to talk and has the funniest little voice, she sounds so different compared to Madisen. She is a major momma's girl and doesn't want to be held by other people for very long if I am near by. Everything is going straight to her mouth these days. And she loves her swing and sleeping on her side. She wears two outifts almost every day because she loads her diaper so much that it goes up the back and or belly and all over her clothes, thank yo Melaleuca prespot for saving those cute outfits! Even though I swear she has it out for me some days, I love the little poop! And by poop I mean Megan, not the poop up her back!
Madisen: This little girl just gets funnier and funnier. And sweeter too! She told me yesterday that we are friends and that was after she said, "look mom, we are all together!" Cuz the three of us were in my bedroom folding laundry. She is still obsessed with her poor bear who has no nose left and is really bald. She can count to 20 now and she talks like a little adult. She loves building towers with her megabloks and dressing her babies. She is such a fun little girl!
Here are a few photos I managed to capture this week:

Madi disappeared and this is where I found her!
We caught her getting the camera out of the cabinet one day and asked her what she was doing and she said she had to take a picture of her baby- she wants to take pictures of them all the time now! So I had to find the camera a new home out of reach! And no, I don't know what the baby is wearing, I think it is supposed to be a veil or something- I found a bag of random doll clothes at the D.I.
BIG GIRL BED!! I agonized over how many times I would have to send her back to her bedroom or how many times I would have to go into her bedroom in the middle of the night and I worried that she would be in our bedroom at 0 dark thirty saying she wanted breakfast... and after I put her to bed she stayed in bed, she slept all night and didn't appear in my bedroom until 8, 30 minutes after she usually gets up! She has done awesome and she loves her big girl bed, which is a relief because I worried myself crazy over whether she was ready for it or not.
Her Daddy taught her how to make her tongue look like her top lip so of course Mom had to do it with her!

Madisen and Megan...

Here's some pictures I took of the girls the other day. Our computer is older then dirt (okay really only about 4 years) so it was taking forever to load pictures so I only have 3 of each girl. These ones are some of my favorites though. Enjoy!

A T.Rex named Sue

We told Madi that the dinosaur exhibit was coming to the museum a couple of weeks ago and, I don't think she totally knew what that meant, even though we've gone to quite a few exhibits with her, she kept asking us to go. So since it finally opened and Chet wasn't working 6-10s this past week we headed to the museum. Madi was a little unsure what to think at first and I think it is because she doesn't understand the whle 'bone' concept yet, but it didn't take long before she was like a kid in a candy store, shouting, "Look!  A dinosaur!"

Madi and Dad
The whole gang- although Meg was sleeping, apparently she has no interest in dinosaurs because she slept through the whole thing. Ü
K -no more pictures, I don't want to show you too much more of the exhibit in case you are going, but I just thought this one was cool and had to add it! Now aren't you excited to go? I love going, King Tut is opening in May and I am way excited!

Random

Madisen's Elvis hair do and her beard. I helped with the hair but she was so proud of the beard she had made herself!
She got quiet and I went wandering and this is where I found her. Seriously we should just buy her a different sized box for every holiday- she loves boxes!
Madi making Dad look cute.
